In 2013, for the first time in Belgium, an asphalt road was built to which our fibre mix was added. The fibres have the positive ability to reduce energy from the to absorb high traffic intensity and braking forces and to better distribute the heavy wheel loads to the underlay foundation. In this way, rail and cracking can be postponed for longer, resulting in a more sustainable asphalt. Because extending life is the main feature of fiber-reinforced asphalt, several private and public testing programs were launched that need to be evaluated over a longer period of time. On this basis, we hope to be able to commercialise our fibre mix from 2020 onwards.
